Understand Music
The music language is a very complex but fun language to learn. Learning about harmony in college or in an educational setting was not the most fun avenue of learning but it did set me up to be able to communicate effectively from my instrument and in talking with musicians on any gig.
Now that I have been working in Nashville as a musician for years I have grown to understand music at the working level vs the textbook level. No matter if you’re an instrumentalist, vocalist or producer I would love to share with you what I know about:
Scales
Key Signatures
Harmony (Chords/Chord Progressions)
Re-harming (Re-harmonizing) a song
Counting Rhythms/Feeling Groove
Nashville Numbers System
Music Notation/Making Charts/Lead Sheets
Ear Training/Learning Songs By Ear
etc.

Produce
Music Production is such a fun world to get into. I have been producing beats, songs, and demos in Ableton for a few years now and no matter what DAW you are using, I believe that knowing the program as well as you can will keep creativity flowing!
We will learn how to:
Not rely on MIDI packs/Pre Made loops
Know what key a song/your song is in
Record/mix your vocal
Record/mix your instrument
Pick great drum sounds
Make your drums groove
EQ your instrument tracks to sound good together
Send tracks and stems off for mixing
Automate volume/EQ/Effects
Make/Use a Bus or Send
Use/Mix in Plug Ins for Effects
etc.
